Friday!

It's Friday! The Michigan test is over. I got essays from most of you, and I have to say that I am quite happy with them. Some of you need to put your essay in the correct format. I have sent an email to those this affects. Your task for the weekend is to make your presentation. You must have a visual aid on Monday to practice with. We will work on them as needed in class, but you must have something to show as you practice your presentation. Feel free to use Prezi.com or google slides. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Wednesday

Your rough draft of your essay was due this morning, thank you very much to those of you who turned them in on time. The rest of you need to get them turned in to me NOW. Tomorrow is the St. Patrick's Day potluck and talent show. Please prepare food to share with your classmates. If you participate in the talent show, I will give you 10 extra quiz points. The Final Draft of your essays are due on Friday. If you have not yet turned in your Rough Draft, it is going to be difficult for me to make comments and provide feedback to you. Please, turn them in.

Thursday

For homework tonight, please write in your blog, finish the APA references for the scavenger hunt, and begin research on your presentation topic. If I didn't discuss a topic with you today, be prepared to discuss it with me tomorrow.

Tuesday

For homework, please use the words that you found in your research about Deforestation on 8-2b to practice making different types of quotations. Please make one of the following:

- in-line quotation
- end quotation
- broken quotation
- mid-sentence quotation
- paraphrase

Further explanation, if needed, of these concepts is to be found on SMRT 8-2C.

Monday

For tonight, please complete 8-1a, part 2 and 8-1b, questions 2 and 3. I did question #1 on the board before you left, so you should know how to do it. Also, remember to write on your blog.

I have graded and entered your scores for the quiz from today. For the most part, they were pretty good. Enjoy the weekend. Come back on Monday ready to get back to work.

I have noticed that I have been somewhat relaxed regarding the tardiness policy and I intent to fix that. Starting on Monday, if you are not in class at 9:00 am, you will not be permitted to enter. The same goes for break and lunch times. Please, adjust your behavior accordingly.

Please, make sure that your blogs are up to date and that you have completed the grammar quizzes for week 9. These are the last grammar quizzes you will have to complete. See you Monday.

Thursday Night!

Tomorrow is our final quiz for Animal Farm. Please complete the study guide that I sent to you. If you complete the study guide, you will do well on the quiz. I look forward to seeing how well you do.

Tuesday

Please read chapters 7 and 8 of Animal Farm and complete the worksheets that I have emailed to you. Also, please write some notes about the Homeless World Cup website for 7-2a on SMRT. Use the Rhetorical Analysis Worksheet that I sent you for ideas. YOU DO NOT NEED TO FILL OUT THE RHETORICAL ANALYSIS WORKSHEET. Also, please make sure that you are working on your blogs and the last week of grammar.
